Description:: View of the main road going through Pelan which was located in Kittson County. The large three story building was the Robert's Halfway House, next to Halfway House is the State Bank of Pelan. Pelan was a half way stop for people on the stagecoach run. The town looked forward to the arrival of the railroad; and when that didn't materialize the residents moved away and the town became a ghost town by the 1930s. This photograph was taken about 1900.
