The title of this little card is Grangers versus Grasshoppers. Its parody illustrates the invasion of Minnesota by the locusts in the nineteenth century, especially during the 1870s.
Bishop John Ireland's lecture on intemperance and law, presented March 10, 1884, in the Music Hall in Buffalo, New York, at the invitation of the Citizens' Reform Association. Attendees included Bishop Patrick John Ryan and representatives from other religious denominations.
