This color map of the layout of Duluth, Minnesota, in 1886, was carefully compiled from the official records and actual surveys, and drawn at a scale of 800 feet to one inch. It includes streets, block numbers, docks, railroads, public parks, and neighborhood divisions. Information about lot sizes and street widths is included.
Map shows proposed railroad, streets and street names, docks, lots and sections in Township 61, North of Range 1, East with handwritten notation by Geo. Durfee, resident real estate agent.

Map of Nicollet County, Minnesota, 1885. Cover names Haynes & Woodard as the publishers. The book contains 22 pages of color maps of all 13 Nicollet County townships. This is one of two versions of this atlas in the collection of the Nicollet County Historical Society. Some of the individual township maps have been cut into two sections in order to attach them to blank pages. Some of the individual township maps of the second atlas have been presented in a different manner than those found in this atlas. Some of the maps in the second atlas have been folded. Because of the cuts and folds, the use of both atlases is required in order to be able to read all of the names of the rural property owners.

Map shows of the condition of the St. Anthony Falls Apron, made up of old oak planking (1877), new oak planking (1885), and new pine planking (1885). Some of the planking is quite worn and damaged by ice and lumber. "Note: Outline of Apron, etc. is from surveys of 1874-76. Soundings reduced to low-water plane of April 4, 1883."

This 1889 map of the Duluth area (including parts of St. Louis and Carlton counties in Minnesota and Douglas County in Wisconsin) was compiled and drawn from U.S. Land and Coast Surveys by R.H.L. Jewett. It was done at a scale of one inch to one mile, and includes roads, railroads, rivers, streams, and lakes.
This early map of the Duluth area shows platted divisions and additions and includes a directory giving the location of government buildings, hospitals, businesses, schools, hotels, depots, docks, cemeteries, and churches.
