The trading floor of the original board of trade building on Superior Street. The board of trade was organized in 1881 with 12 members. The principal business was to establish prices, as most of the trading was done by commission merchants outside. This building opened January 6, 1886. It burned in 1894.

This is the trading floor of the Duluth Board of Trade at 301 West First Street. The Traphagen and Fitzpatrick designed building was completed in 1895 replacing the Superior Street Board of Trade building that was destroyed in a fire. The members are celebrating the arrival of the new year. Workers are at the chalk boards. Note the straw hats on the ceiling light fixture at the left.

Exterior view of the tourist information cabin. An outreach effort of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, it was originally located east of Silver Lake, near 3rd Street North and North 6th Avenue West. It was relocated to a spot south of Eveleth on Highway 53 before being replaced by a mobile unit.
