This hand-written list of Minnesota Academy of Science presidents 1932-1956 includes such prominent Minnesotans as the explorer/geologist and Carleton College president Laurence M. Gould, Bell Museum of Natural History director Walter J. Breckenridge, and Hiram E. Essex, one of several from the Mayo Clinic/Mayo Foundation. Hilma Berglund created this card in 1955 on blue paper. It contains both text and a woven sample. The actual card is 34 x 5 cm and when folded fits into a handmade envelope which is 18 x 5.5 cm. The card is printed with purple ink on blue paper. The swatch warp is of multicolor linen and lurex threads, woven with lurex weft. The 2.5 x 2.5 cm swatch is plain weave.
Hilma Berglund created this Christmas card in 1959. It is printed in red ink on tan card stock and has a matching envelope. The text is bordered by two woven swatches. The upper swatch is white with metallic thread and the lower swatch is multi-colored. The card measures 17.5 x 10.5 cm, the envelope is 11. 5 x 14.25 cm.
Hilma Berglund created this Christmas card in 1958. It is printed with green ink on off-white cardstock, when folded it creates its own envelope. The lines of the text form the shape of the state of Minnesota.
This letter, sent to Dan Hestetune (a mining engineer at Soudan Mine), describes areas of interest between the No. 8 Shaft, 23rd and 25th levels. It explains where ore laid between the various levels and answers the question about whether the mine should continue east for more ore.
The mining companies would conduct diamond drill core drilling to determine the geology of the rock beneath them. This letter describes the rock found as the mining company was looking at the possible development of the No. 8 Shaft, 29th level (Montana). The letter was sent to I.L. Reid, Supervisor of the Minnesota Explorations, Oliver Iron Mining Division located in Duluth, Minnesota.

This ledger contains the handwritten minutes of the meetings of the Board of Trustees of the Grand Marais Public Library, in Grand Marais, Minnesota, from the first meeting in December 1904 through September 1967. The establishment and development of the library can be traced through these notes, along with the participation of many prominent community members who considered the library an important asset to their town.
