Second floor exhibit featuring weavings and artifacts from one of the provinces of Sweden. Completed in 1908, the Swan J. Turnblad mansion was built in the French Chateauesque style. The house became the American Swedish Institute in 1929.
A caption attached to the back reads, " STACKS OF BOOKS -- The book stacks at the Central Library hold the bulk of the Library's collection. In a new library more of these could be placed on open shelves for readers to handle.

With community support and funds from Andrew Carnegie the Central Avenue Branch of the Minneapolis Library opened on November 15, 1915 at 2200 Central Avenue Northeast, Minneapolis, Minnesota. It stood until 1972 when it was razed to make room for the new Northeast Library.

The staff lounge, on the fourth floor of the Central Library of Minneapolis Public Library in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This facility, at 300 Nicollet Mall, was built in 1961 and housed the library until 2002. The Minneapolis Public Library wasy founded in 1885 and grew to include a Central Library and fourteen branches. In 2008 the library was merged into the Hennepin County Library system.
