This photograph shows baseball players from the Fats versus the Leans game in St. Peter in 1908. These games were usually held for charitable purposes. The players were encouraged to wear unusual clothing. Note the man with the handcuffs in the foreground. Was he the umpire?

This photograph shows the induction of soldiers from Company K of the Second Regiment of the Minnesota National Guard in front of the St. Peter Armory in 1917. The Armory was located on the east side of South Minnesota Avenue, between Grace and Mulberry Streets.
This photograph shows future Minnesota governor John A. Johnson, from St. Peter, and a number of his friends camping at Case's Point at Lake Emily in a view from about 1898. Johnson is standing at far right.
This is a photograph of Dr. Asa W. Daniels from St. Peter. Daniels served as a surgeon at Fort Ridgely in Nicollet County and as a medical officer at the Lower Sioux Agency before he moved to St. Peter to practice medicine. He tended the wounded in 1862 during the attack on New Ulm by the Dakota.
This is a photograph of Dr. John Sander, who was the head of the German department at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter until his resignation in 1903. Dr. Sander was also a co-founder of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, also known as Trinity Lutheran Church, in 1892. He served as pastor until 1902.
This is a photograph of E. St. Julien Cox, the first mayor of St. Peter from 1865 to 1867. Cox was a captain in Company E of the Second Minnesota Regiment during the Civil War. He led volunteers to fight at New Ulm during the 1862 Uprising. Cox served as judge of the Ninth Judicial District from 1876 to 1882.
This photograph shows Mrs. John A. Johnson (at left) and Mrs. Will Perry, both from St. Peter, in bathing costumes at an area lake, probably Lake Emily east of St. Peter. Mrs. Johnson's husband, John A. Johnson, served as the governor of Minnesota from 1905 until 1909.
This photograph shows the women who belonged to the Rakeover Club in St. Peter. The names of the members are on the reverse side of the photograph. The women are pictured at the Sackett house on Minnesota Avenue.
