A lithographed postcard showing the exterior of the M. E.l Church in Heron Lake. "The cornerstone was laid July 21, 1902 and the church was dedicated December 7, 1902 at a cost of $8000. The stone on the outside of the building is pipestone and is said to be one of only a few churches in Minnesota to use this material." Written on the back: "Miss Susie Babcock Barron, Wisc., Rec'd letter yesterday and will write soon. Cal came this morning. He had written 3 letters. Funny I didn't get them. I am lonesome for Worthington too, Ada M."

Exterior view of the Lakefield Methodist Episcopal Church and Rectory. The church was chartered on July 18, 1892. The church is now known as the First United Church of Lakefield.
The front side of "Minnesota Bike Map West" contains the map of the southwestern quadrant of the state, from Elmore to Genola, a legend, a small map of native vegetation in the state, and an article about bicycling safety and security. The back side contains the map of the northwestern quadrant of the state, from Genola to St. Vincent, and a legend. MnDOT's bikeway maps serve as a reference guide illustrating major historical and cultural points of interest in Minnesota, public park lands and facilities, equipment, and safety information. They also depict road analyses for bicycle travel, location of paved road shoulders and off-road bikeways, and controlled access roads where bicycles are prohibited. There are 54 maps in the Statewide Series (1979-1983), 4 maps in the Statewide Quadrant Series (1986-1993), and 2 maps in the Metro Series (1989). Legislatively mandated, these maps were prepared as convenient guides to help bicyclists select their routes. Each map is unique and signifies a historical reference to the state of bicycle facilities at the time of publication.

Ed and Art Moe's Store in Lakefield about 1925. It was located on 2nd Avenue and Main Street. The employees shown are Ed Moe and Earl Nelson. The store began business in 1916.

John Ruthenbeck pictured in front of his business. Started as a hardware store in 1909 as a partnership between George Stevenson, John Ruthenbeck and August Atz. In 1910 they took in Theo. Milbrath, and built this building. They sold the first Ford cars from this location. In 1916 the partnership was dissolved; from then on was operated by John as an implement business. He ran it for 30 years, then selling it to Ray Ahrens in 1946.

Harry Converse with live or call decoys on Heron Lake. Harry Converse (1876-1953) was a guide for the Dalziel Hunting Camp for twenty years beginning in 1906.
