Exterior view of the South Lake Johanna Lutheran Church, likely at the dedication of the building in 1903 led by Reverend D. C. Jordahl. This church was built by Gunvald Aslakson who also built the furnishings. A sacristy was added to the building in 1912. The building burned August 6, 1938. A threshing crew working nearby saved some furnishings.
The Starbuck Community Hall and movie theater was built in 1937 with federal WPA funds. Uses included American Legion, City offices, cinema, senior nutrition program, and public reception space.
school students playing games at recess. The Starbuck Public school was built in 1890 as a single story, two room building. It was soon expanded to a two story, four room building. It was razed when a large brick school was built in 1905.

Exterior view of the St. John Nepomuk Church, south faade. The church was built in 1887, remodeled in 1923 and burned in 1946. A brick church replaced it. It is also known as the Lake Reno Catholic Church.
