The North and South Wings of Mott Hall served as the first permanent buildings for classrooms and dormitories during 1874-1879. The North Wing was the first to be occupied on March 17, 1868, and the South Wing was occupied in the fall of 1873. The two wings were almost exact counterparts, and were connected by a covered passageway on the first floor level.
