- A postcard of an Aerial photograph of Halstad, Minnesota. The city was founded in 1883 and the Methodist church was founded in 1889. Written on back; "Miss Alice Schollert 2923 Aldrich Ave. No., Mpls, Minn. Dear Alice, How are you? We got home safely and were glad to get back because we felt so warm and dirty. Have been busy sewing. Made a housedress and four corset covers. Haven't heard a word from Clara since we left her in Mpls. She is terribly negligent about writing. How is my little Frances? Got my school contract today. Do you know where you are going to teach yet? Greet your mama, papa and the girls. Mama and I enjoyed the day spent with you so much. With love, Polly."

- A group of congregants stand in front of a church. The Cherry Grove Evangelical Church was dedicated on November 13, 1982 and cost $2400. In 1925 it was replaced with a new building.

- A photograph showing the exterior of Kenyon Evangelical Church which was organized in 1898. Built in 1914 the Cornerstone was laid on August 16. In 1968 it merged with the Kenyon Methodist Church and is now Kenyon United Methodist Church. Written on the back, "Mrs. Ernest Huake 511 oak St. N.E., Brainerd, Minn. Dear Mrs. Huake, How are you all? We are having a lovely time. Got here at 5:00 Sat. evening and had such nice trip. Essie is fine and we all send our love to you all. Do not know exactly when we'll be home. With much love, Minnie."

4. Methodist Episcopal Church, Fairmont, Minnesota

- A postcard showing the exterior of the Fairmont M. E. church. Fairmont Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1878. The lot was purchased in 1877 from A. L. Ward for the sum of $100, with the stipulation that unless it was used for a church it would revert to its original owner. In 1878 a neat little frame church was built. In 1894 a second frame building, with a seating capacity of 650 people, was built. $4000 of the $7000 building debt was paid before the dedication and at the dedication service the remaining $3000 was raised. Written on the back: "P. S. Richardson Broken Bow, Chester Co., Neb., from Fairmont, Minn, Oct. 15, 1910, Mrs. Richardson, I am good ways from homeland, thot (sp) I would send you a card from here to let you know I had not forget you. 5. Methodist Episcopal Church Hill City, Minnesota

- A postcard showing the exterior of the Hill City Methodist Episcopal Church. The church was dedicated September 8, 1912. This red brick edifice was built at a cost of $4500. This structure burned down in 1950 and a new one replaced it.

6. Methodist Episcopal Church St. Cloud, Minnesota

- St. Cloud Methodist Episcopal Church, founded 1857, was built 1911 and dedicated May 24, 1914. It was located at the corner of Fifth Ave. and Third Street South. Constructed of St. Cloud granite and brick it was called a "20th Century Church" and was 54 feet by 80 feet and cost $24,000 to build. Later named First Methodist it is currently First United Methodist Church. Written on the back: "Wells, Minnesota, Oct. 2, 1915, Mr. Lyman F. Morris, Deloit, Iowa, Crawford Co., Dear Father, We are to move to St. Bend.(?), next week. We are busy packing. P.S. All well. Lovingly Will."

7. Methodist Episcopal Church, Triumph, Minnesota

- A postcard showing the exterior of Triumph Methodist Episcopal Church. Originally a Congregational Church, Triumph Methodist Episcopal Church was dedicated in 1893.The church was moved from its country site in Elm Creek township to Monterey in 1900. The church was moved again in 1902 to a spot exactly midway between the depot at Triumph and the depot at Monterey. A new church building replaced this one in 1955. Written on the back: "Miss Alice Brown, Mora, Minnesota,from Lake City, S.D., Dear friends, Just a card to let you know I am still awaiting an answer to my last letter. We are having our second winter colder than Greenland. The last few days with some snow. I hope it soon warms up, and spring comes to stay. My school closes may 11th. I hope to hear from you before I leave here, ans. soon, G.E.S."

- Rev. William McKinley, 1834-1918. His obituary dated January 13, 1918 [newspaper not identified], reads: "Early Methodist Divine Dies at Home in Winona. Rev. William McKinley, dean of Minnesota Methodism, active as a lecturer, author and divine in various parts of the state since 1854, died late yesterday at his home in Winona, where he has lived since his retirement from active ministry ten years ago. Dr. McKinley was 84 years old and was known prominently throughout the Northwest as an author and preacher. In the Civil War he gained his early experience as a chaplain among the Union soldiers. His first pastorate was at Hastings, where he lived as boy on a farm. Subsequently he was pastor of Hamline Methodist Episcopal church of this city, Central Park church and of First Methodist Episcopal church of Minneapolis, besides serving as district superintendent of the St. Paul district. He was an intimate friend of Edward Eggleston, the famed minister-author, in whose church in New York ci

10. Principal Protestant Churches of Owatonna, Minnesota

- A lithographed postcard depicting four protestant churches: Presbyterian, First Baptist, Congregational and the First M. E. Church. The Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1878 and was budgeted to cost $6000. The cost went over budget by $2000. At the dedication in December 1, 1878 an offering was received of $2583 and no money needed to be borrowed. Written on the back: "Miss Xenia Regan 2135 Monroe Ave., San Diego, Cal., Dear Xenia, Was very much delighted to hear from you. had been looking for a card from you for a very long time. Was glad to hear you like your new home so much. So you are going to finish school before I do. Do you intend to go on to school after you finsih this? I am taking the Normal Training course this year so expect to teach next year. I like it very much.We have certinly had some lovely weather this winter. No one bit cold. Hope it stays like this for a while. This week ends our vacation then comes hard work again. As ever your friend, Alma Hanson."

11. Staff of the Evangelical Headquarters Dining Hall at the Minnesota State Fair, St. Paul, Minnesota

- The Evangelical Headquarters Dining Hall was a fundraiser for the Evangelical Hospital and Deaconess Home in St. Paul. This Hospital became the West Side General Hospital. The aprons were donated by the Washburn -Crosby Mill. Rev. J. M. Baitinger, President of the hospital in his newsletter the "LifeLine", December 1914, thanked the Washburn-Crosby people saying, "the apron catches the eye and the gold metal flour satisfies their stomachs. We want to thank the Washburn-Crosby people for furnishing us with these beautiful caps and aprons, neatly and artistically made."

12. Young People's Association District Convention, Sleepy Eye, Minnesota

- Attendees of the Young People's Alliance, District Convention at the Sleepy Eye Evangelical Church pose in front of the church on the lawn. This movement won approval of the General Conference in 1891. It was the organization which had been designed to bring unification among the young people of the Church, as well as to consolidate the numerous Jugend-Bunds (Youth Leagues) which had formed in Evangelical Association congregations throughout the country. As a youth society, its purpose was the promotion of intellectual, religious, and social culture and to train young people in Christian living and for service in the Church. It served to fill the gap between the Sunday School and the Church.
