The Influenza epidemic affected the association and an additional assessment of one month's dues was required from members for additional expenses. There was a $10,101.13 deficit at the end of January 1919. The biggest increase in expenses was for death payouts, going from $6699.50 in 1917 to $11900 in 1918. Twenty-eight deaths were listed for 1918 as opposed to 13 in 1917.
