Twenty nine seniors received diplomas at commencement ceremonies, with the Baccalaureate service being held the previous week. The salutatory address was printed, as was the valedictory speech. The senior class history, class will, and class prophecy were given. A Who's Who of the class of 1938 was listed, as well as senior nick-names and descriptions and senior ambitions. An editorial about graduation and what follows was written by Superintendent A. L. Winterquist. The Lincoln Log yearbooks arrived. Agricultural students took a field trip to the Cloquet paper mill, wood conversion plant, and Pine Knot Printing offices. Students participated in the seventh annual regional track meet at Chisholm. The Esko Baseball team got new uniforms. The High School band marched at the School Police Parade at Cloquet. Six boys attended the four day FFA Convention at St. Paul. The Farmers' Club met, with St. Louis County Agent Deke Grussendorf being the speaker.
The annual junior-senior banquet was held at Glass Block Tea Rooms, followed by a party at Lincoln School. Thomson 4-H Club won honors in the 4-H Music and Play Contest. Lincoln School held a concert by Don Piedro's Spanish Sparklets which had been postponed two weeks prior by inclement weather. One afternoon it appeared that there might be a dust storm. Notice was given that the Bethel English Lutheran Church would hold services on Sunday at Lincoln School. Miss Edna Tan of the Washington School faculty was hospitalized at Raiter Hospital. Duluth State Teachers' College A Capella Choir presented a concert. Arbor Day was observed with an assembly, program, and tree plantings. At an all high school mixer the hall of fame students were elected. Washington School news was given, including a note that Harvey Karjala brought slate and stone from Thomson, in conjunction with a geography class. A page was devoted to table etiquette. The high school track team was preparing for the District Track Meet to be held at Cloquet. Esko groups, including the Thomson High School Band and Glee Club, entered the Tri-County Music Festival at Moose Lake.
This study examines the enrollment potential of the area in southwestern Minnesota to answer some questions concerning the possibility of the establishment of a state college in Worthington, Minnesota.

Program for the 78th annual conference of the Minnesota Library Association held October 25th-27th, 1973 at the Radisson Hotel, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The theme was "MLA at Work." This year MLA moved away from General Sessions, and offered programs divided and sponsored by MLA divisions, sections, and round tables. There was an all conference dinner with speaker Ruth Warncke on the topic of "Continuing Education-Whose Responsibility?"
