This is Leif Erikson Park's amphitheater feature and its view to the Lake Superior. People are on park benches, and there is an ore boat on the lake. Lakeshore Park was renamed Leif Erikson Park 1929.

Large sleds and sleighs were constructed in Duluth. One company was the McMartin's Carriage Works. Groups and organizations hired sleighs for outings like this unidentified group stopped in front of the St. Louis County Courthouse at Fifth Avenue West and First Street. The man next to the driver is holding a trumpet.

Hotel Cody was located at 332 North Central Avenue in West Duluth. This photograph may be of the February 23, 1922 snowstorm. Other businesses on Central Avenue in this image include Nygren's Drug Store, Liberty Cafe, McLelland Stores, and the Boston Store.

This West Duluth Street view at Central Avenue and Bristol street shows the building where the Purity Store operated as well as other business signs. It is an example of Romanesque architecture. The view includes men, boys, children, a truck, snow. It is a winter view of the business district. The building was constructed in 1889, and it was razed in 1976. Note the fire escape.
