Large sleds and sleighs were constructed in Duluth. One company was the McMartin's Carriage Works. Groups and organizations hired sleighs for outings like this unidentified group stopped in front of the St. Louis County Courthouse at Fifth Avenue West and First Street. This 1925 building at 23 Mesaba Avenue was a memorial to Luke Authur Marvin who died in 1924, son of Luke Marvin, and housed The Bethel Sunday School and Boys and Girls Clubs for many years.

the Frerker Building, built about 1902 by Theodore and Frank Frerker for their wholesale and retail liquor business at 418-420 W Superior. The Frerker is the building between the Manhattan on left and the Spalding Hotel on the right.

Construction of the F. A. Patrick building began in March 1906 at the corner of Fifth Avenue South and Commerce Street. The woolen mill and garment factory had nation-wide customers by 1916.

Built in 1919 as a home for pregnant young girls to live, attend school, and train for parenting at 1230 East Ninth Street until the child was born. The Bethel Home ceased these services in the early 1970s.
