Part of the Fargo Roller Mill is visible in the foreground. Much of Moorhead is visible in the distance, including a number of businesses, mostly saloons, at the Moorhead end of the bridge. These include Billy Diemert's Place, just north of the bridge, and John Haas' Midway saloon just to the south. The bridge is undergoing major repairs, the deck is seen removed at right. On the Fargo side of the bridge, at right is visible a small building with a sign reading "John R. Jardine, Bridge Works."

The original Cedar Avenue Bridge, Eagan Minnesota was constructed in 1890 and connected Dakota and Hennepin Counties over the Minnesota River. The Dakota County portion of the bridge was removed upon the completion of the new bridge in 1980.

In the fall of 1927 the Bardon's Peak, Mission Creek, Fond du Lac road to Jay Cooke State Park was completed, adding 12 miles to the Duluth boulevard system.

View is to the east from the Fargo, North Dakota side of the Red River, just north of the Fargo end of the North Bridge. Crossing the bridge from Moorhead to Fargo is the Fargo and Moorhead Electric Street Railway's streetcar number 3, which connected 1st Avenue North in Moorhead with Northern Pacific Ave in Fargo, North Dakota. Also visible in the foreground below the bridge are pilings designed to protect the bridge footing from ice breaking up in the spring. Also visible in the distance are a number of Moorhead businesses, primarily saloons.
Peter Bonde with his bike standing on a wood bridge that leads over the tracks to Sperryville. Peter Bonde was sheriff in Kandiyohi County from 1906-1927. He was known as the Prohibition Sheriff. Images in this collection were taken by Peter Bonde from 1890-1910.

The Main Ave bridge is visible in the foreground as is the Northern Pacific Railway Bridge weighed down with locomotives and box cars to keep the bridge from washing away. In the distance at left can be seen steam tractors parked on the North Bridge weighing it down. These tactics worked as no bridges were lost during the flood.
