We, as the senior [sic] class, wore caps and gowns for the first time that day and carried our class flower, the golden chrysanthanum [sic], Outside of the Congregational Church I think it was, after the inaugural ceremonies, we formed a double line on each side of the walk and crossed our long stemmed flowers over Dr. Cowling's head as he walked from the church."
