Bill of Sale for a slave named London, sold by Tabatha Wheeten to Nathaniel Willmarth in 1722 in the County of Bristol, Massachusetts bay, New England. Willmarth was the great grandfather of an uncle by marriage to Elisha Slye, only survivor of a family which came to Minneapolis in 1856.

A letter from a O. D. Storrs, in Winsted Lake, Minnesota, to an administrator at the Protestant Orphan Asylum. The woman has taken an orphaned boy, Charley, on a "trial" basis and explains in her letter that she has decided to adopt him permanently.
The title of this little card is Grangers versus Grasshoppers. Its parody illustrates the invasion of Minnesota by the locusts in the nineteenth century, especially during the 1870s.

In 1896, J.L. Dickinson acquired the Alexandria Hotel at Geneva Beach from Mr. Letson, an early resort builder, and changed the name to the Geneva Beach Hotel. Images in this collection were found in the attic of an old farm house in Kandiyohi County formerly owned by George Kallevig. Whether these negatives are from the Kallevig family or not is unknown.

Sophie Pederson Bonde was Peter Bonde's wife. Peter Bonde was sheriff in Kandiyohi County from 1906-1927. He was known as the Prohibition Sheriff. Images in this collection were taken by Peter Bonde from 1890-1910.

Members are gathered in front of Mott Hall at the Minnesota Institute for Defectives (Deaf, Blind and Feeble-Minded). The 2nd Convention of the Minnesota Association of the Deaf was held in Faribault during June 24-27, 1890. The man sitting in a chair in front on the left end is Superintendent Jonathan L. Noyes. In the front row, sitting on the steps from left to right, the second man is Anton Schroeder, the third man is Dr. James L. Smith, and the fourth man (with a little child in front of him) is Jay Cooke Howard.
Portrait of the officers of Templars of Tempereance. Identified in this picture are Gustav Eide, who later moved to the midwest and lived in Minneapolis (thrid from the left in back row), and John Figved, who came west and settled in Milwaukee (first from left in front row).
