Built in 1880 the Savage Minnesota Railroad Depot closed in 1970. During 1973 the Depot, without the outhouse, was purchased and moved to Murphy's Landing in Shakopee Minnesota. In 2005 the City of Savage, Minnesota repurchased the building and returned it to Savage's Town Square, across the road from its original location. After St. John the Baptist Catholic Church was chartered in 1854, William Byrne and his family donated the land for the church and cemetery. The burial ground, located on Judicial Road, Burnsville, Minnesota continues to serve the parish.
