An unidentified group of couples and their dog in a decorated log cabin with insignia and oars linked to the Duluth Yacht Club which was organized in 1890, incorporated 1905, declined, and was absorbed in 1909 by the Duluth Boat Club.

The Sunshine Club of Virginia was a young women's service and social club. The club's Americanized name suggests the second generation's disposition to claim their American identity: first generation organization names would have likely been rendered in Hebrew.

Four young women sit at a picnic table and snap beans. "Hachsharah" means "training" or "preparation" in Hebrew. Hachsharah were training farms for Jews who wished to settle in Palestine and become citizens. Harchsharah farms were located throughout Eastern Europe and the United States, funded by a variety of Zionist groups. The hachsharah farm in Anoka was supported by Habonim, an international Zionist youth organization.

This was once the home of the Zachris Peter Hedberg family in St. Peter. The house is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Fourth and Walnut Streets, facing Fourth Street. Zachris is sitting in a chair on the lawn, below his wife, Johanna, and his daughter, Hilda. Son Harry is in the corner tower, and Johanna's parents, Fajer and Hanna Knutson, are sitting on a bench on the lawn.
This is the West Duluth plant of the Zenith Furnace Company. West Duluth is a neighborhood of Duluth. Captain August B. Wolvin bought the aging blast furnace at this Fifty-seventh Avenue West location, modernized it and organized Zenith Furnace to operate it. It produced pig iron. It was incorporated in 1902. The plant produced 175 tons of product in 24 hours. In one month in 1916, a record of 310 tons of pig iron was produced in 24 hours. The site covers 80 acres and includes a coal dock. Coal gas, ammonia, and coal tar are by-products. It employed 350 men with a payroll of $35,000 a month in 1916.
