He set the course for Hazelden's treatment programs and guaranteed its adherence to a fundamental, philosophical, and pragmatic approach.

In 1999, Northwestern College of Chiropractic was renamed Northwestern Health Sciences University to reflect its addition of programs in other alternative medicine fields.
