This ledger contains the handwritten minutes of the meetings of the Board of Trustees of the Grand Marais Public Library, in Grand Marais, Minnesota, from the first meeting in December 1904 through September 1967. The establishment and development of the library can be traced through these notes, along with the participation of many prominent community members who considered the library an important asset to their town.
Bachelor of Arts degree certificate for Ole Edward Rolvaag awarded by St. Olaf College of Northfield, Minnesota on June 13, 1905. Signed by J. N. Kildahl and J. O. Hougen. A cut several inches long goes through the top center of the certificate. Document was removed from its frame just prior to scanning.
The declaration of two amendments from 1906 to the constitution of the Minnesota Library Association, one indicating that boards become MLA members with $2.00 initial payment and $1.00 annual payment, and a second amendment calling for the creation of sections (e.g. trustees or college libraries) within the organization that have a place on the annual program.

The document is dated October 1, 1938 and contains 60 trivia questions and answers relating to Minnesota public and academic libraries, education, and the Minnesota Library Association.
Letter dated October 13, 1938 from Lee F. Zimmerman, State Director of Libraries, to Minnesota Librarians. The letter was a template used to request that local libraries work with their local radio stations to broadcast radio scripts at the local level. The radio scripts were originally created by the Minnesota Library Association Radio Committee to be broadcast over a period of 12-13 weeks on station KSTP in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Program for the 82nd annual conference of the Minnesota Library Association held September 21-23, 1977 at the Duluth Hotel, Duluth, Minnesota. The theme was "Sharing; Services and Resources." The preconference was "Sharing: Prospects for Planning and Coordinating Continuing Education Resources in Minnesota." Boat trips on Lake Superior were offered before the dinner. Speaker David Madden read selections from his novel Bijou at the dinner.

Governor Rudy Perpich's goal is to gather library users and professionals, and work to make state library services more accessible and effective. Sections include services and materials, access and barriers to information, special services, personnel, information networks and library cooperation, evaluation and accountability, governance and finance, and awareness and value of the library. Includes names of planning committee and subcommittee members.
Program for the 83nd annual conference of the Minnesota Library Association held May 24-26, 1978 at the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minnesota. The theme was "Progress Through Involvement." General session topics included "The Impact of the Library on Social Change," "The Role of MLA in the Governor's Conference on Library and Information Services," "You Asked for It, You Got It - Responsibilities to the Governor's Conference," and "Library Organizations in Minnesota."
Program for the 84th annual conference of the Minnesota Library Association held May 17-19th, 1979 at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota. The theme was "New Directions." The MLA Awards Banquet featured speaker Joel Barker, Northern State Power Company on the topic of "New Dawn for Libraries - Some Possibilities for the Next 25 Years."

Program for the 91st annual conference of the Minnesota Library Association (MLA) held on April 16-18, 1986 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The theme for the conference was "Business is Our Business." General session topics include business information resources, "Personality Type and Job Satisfaction," library resource preservation, government secrecy, government budget cuts and library budgets, the information needs of business students, and grant writing. A musical parody "Inforama!" was performed by MLA members on the evening of April 17 and the program for the musical performance is inserted in the conference program.

The theme for the conference was "Libraries, Literacy and Liberty."
