The Minnesota Digital Library (MDL) provides access to digital collections shared by over 200 contributing organizations throughout Minnesota. But with so many digitized materials, it can be hard to know where to start. In 2023, we asked some of our contributors: what is your favorite item from your collection in MDL? Their answers turned into our first annual Contributor’s Choice exhibit. Following that initial success, we repeated the question to ten other organizations, and the second Contributor’s Choice exhibit was born.

For 2025, we decided to highlight the collections of some of our founding contributors in honor of our 20th anniversary. We invited organizations who provided some of the first digital collections to MDL to participate in this special edition. Thanks to the librarians, curators, and archivists from these founding contributors who helped us create our third annual exhibit. They selected, researched, and wrote the content on each of their pages. We could not have done it without them!
