Flag raising ceremony on August 17, 1912, dedicated St. Albans on LakeMinnetonka as the summer capital of Minnesota. A crowd of dozens gathered in front of the flag pole. Printed message from the St. Albans Company advertises charming environment, good service, rest and recreation, color added.

The Lafayette Club's fa??ade shows the one-story arches on the first floor, windows of rooms on the second and third stories, and the four-story tower.
The Lafayette Club is surrounded on front and side by a porch, its columns covered with vines. A mansard roof tops the second story. A nearby one-story building is adjacent to a circular four-story tower with a viewing deck on the top story, postmarked 1906.

Rail service reached Winton in 1902 when the Duluth and Iron Range Railroad extended service to Fall Lake and Winton. Sixty years later the station was still open two hours each day as the train still thundered through.
The Swallow and Hopkins Lumber Mill was the second largest mill in Winton. It opened in 1899 as the Fall Lake Lumber Company and continued operations until shortly after World War One.

Formal flower gardens at Highcroft overlook LakeMinnetonka. This was the home of the Peavey grain milling family in Ferndale. House was razed in the early 1950s.
The Como was one of the streetcar steamboats on LakeMinnetonka. Message says the writer took the Como from the hotel to the island, and that the fishing is so good in this lake that it is not unusual to catch 100 pounds of bass in three hours, postmarked and dated 1907.
