The 1940 annual meeting of the Minnesota Academy of Science took place at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis on April 19-20, 1940. This program shows 40+ scientific talks, ranging from "Minnesota Lake Surveys and Fish Management" to the geology of the Duluth region. The program for the Junior Academy included talks by high school students, including reports from Science Clubs. The September-October-November 1983 edition of the Geological Society of Minnesota (GSM) newsletter included various society notices, and news that the state fair booth had won an award.
The front side of "Minnesota Bikeways: Map 7 North Western Minnesota" contains: a map index; a list of county, municipal, and state parks and state rest areas covered in the map; a "potpourri" article; and inset maps of Thief River Falls, Red Lake Falls, Oklee, and Crookston. The back side contains a legend of signs and symbols and the larger bikeways map. MnDOT's bikeway maps serve as a reference guide illustrating major historical and cultural points of interest in Minnesota, public park lands and facilities, equipment, and safety information. They also depict road analyses for bicycle travel, location of paved road shoulders and off-road bikeways, and controlled access roads where bicycles are prohibited. There are 54 maps in the Statewide Series (1979-1983), 4 maps in the Statewide Quadrant Series (1986-1993), and 2 maps in the Metro Series (1989). Legislatively mandated, these maps were prepared as convenient guides to help bicyclists select their routes. Each map is unique and signifies a historical reference to the state of bicycle facilities at the time of publication.

Volume 3, number 3 of the of the Minnesota Library Association (MLA) Peddler was published in September 1941. The editor in chief was Neil S. Boardman. This issue contains the program schedule for the 49th annual conference on October 2-4, biographies of conference presenters, news items about members and library activities, marriage and birth notices, travel accounts, Minneapolis Public Library and St. Paul Public Library radio program schedule, employment transfer notices, Children's Book Week announcement, secretary's column, and a book review. The M.L.A Peddler was created and conceived by the Junior members of the Minnesota Library Association. The first issue states "...[The] Peddler will bring you bits of personal gossip, news about library enterprises, [and] matters of friendly interest."
