This ledger contains the handwritten minutes of the meetings of the Board of Trustees of the Grand Marais Public Library, in Grand Marais, Minnesota, from the first meeting in December 1904 through September 1967. The establishment and development of the library can be traced through these notes, along with the participation of many prominent community members who considered the library an important asset to their town.
Cambridge, chosen as the site for the headquarters of the new regional system in 1959, had also been the headquarters of the Isanti County Library, which was established in 1946 in Cambridge, Minnesota. Founded in 1959, ECRL is the oldest existing regional public library system in Minnesota. Headquartered in Cambridge, it is a consolidated library system with 14 libraries and Outreach Services and serves residents in Aitkin, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine counties.
Annual report featuring a statement by Board President T.B. Walker, and statistical and financial data reported by Librarian Herbert Putnam. Appendices include books by classification, circulation by month, circulation by classification, Northside branch circulation, Franklin branch circulation, summary of statistics, and a list of donors.

The thirteen reports of the series were issued separately and later bound in one volume. Selected photographs of Minnesota public libraries are included in most reports.
