Letter dated October 13, 1938 from Lee F. Zimmerman, State Director of Libraries, to Minnesota Librarians. The letter was a template used to request that local libraries work with their local radio stations to broadcast radio scripts at the local level. The radio scripts were originally created by the Minnesota Library Association Radio Committee to be broadcast over a period of 12-13 weeks on station KSTP in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This letter was sent to Dr. A. O. Hagen, a local dentist, from presidential candidate Wendell Wilkie a few weeks before the national election for the presidency.
This letter, dated August 26, 1862, describes the fighting between settlers and Dakota men who participated in a conflict in a southern Minnesota community, most likely in New Ulm. Wheelock also describes his experiences as a member of a burial party that ventured out into the surrounding countryside. Many dead settlers were found, as well as a group of thirteen settlers who had been hiding for three days. Wheelock states his intention to leave Minnesota if the fighting does not stop soon and if he is not able to feel that he is safe in his home.
Letter to Erwin Oreck from Helen Woeber at Arrowhead Lodge in reply to a letter from October 4th. Arrowhead Lodge discribes how Oreck believes they discriminate based on religion, and how they do not, but simple do not want "riffraff."

Letter written to Harry Goldie, principle developer of the Calhoun Beach Club building. Goldie was a Minnesota native and U of MN graduate. At the time this letter was written, Minneapolis was being referred to in the national press as the "Capitol of American Anti-Semitism." Jews in Minneapolis were denied membership in various associations, hospital admissions and were legally prohibited from purchasing homes in "covenanted" areas. Goldie's complex was eventually built, and Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale were among the guests at the club's opening.

Letter dated January 18, 1929 from J. L. Watson, Right of Way Commissioner, Northern Pacific Railway Company to Frank T. Wilson, Stillwater regarding the dangerous proposed crossing at Mulberry Street and suggesting Chestnut Street as a safer alternative.
Marion Daniel Shutter came to Minneapolis in 1881 to serve as minister of Olivet Baptist, now University Baptist Church. He left the denomination after 5 years and became assistant to Dr. James H. Tuttle at the Universalist Church of the Redeemer. On Tuttle's retirement, Shutter became pastor there in 1891 and served until his death in 1939. Shutter was a founder of Unity House, the oldest settlement house in Minneapolis. He aided in the establishment of public playgrounds in Minneapolis and served as the Chairman of the Minneapolis Vice Commission in 1911. He was president of the Minneapolis Charter Commission and edited and contributed to histories of Minneapolis and Minnesota. Booker T. Washington was Principal of Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute. In the letter, sent from the Grand Union Hotel in New York City on October 17, 1901, Washington refers to a previous visit to Reverend Shutter's church. Whether Washington was able to arrange another visit is unknown.
