Duluth State Normal School scrapbook covering 1915 - 1921. The scrapbook was compiled by Normal School Librarian Ruth Ely. It includes news clippings, photographic prints, brochures, programs, printed invitations to formal campus events, handwritten invitations to informal student events, and school day schedules. Some photographs by Duluth photographer Hugh McKenzie.

A class of schoolchildren are being taught how to use the library in the Franklin Branch of the Minneapolis Public Library. Opened in August 1914 at 1314 East Franklin Avenue, and designed by architect Edward L. Tilton, this was the first library building in Minneapolis to be built with funds from Andrew Carnegie. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

External view of College Hall, the second building erected on the campus of the College of St. Catherine by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Its construction began in 1912 and was completed in 1914. Although it was originally called College Hall the name was later changed to Whitby Hall in 1929. The building housed the Jeanne d'Arc Auditorium and contained facilities for teaching music, art, drama, science, and home economics and was also a residence hall for students.
