Laird estimates the new building will cost $40,000, which he will provide. Actual costs exceeded that by approximately $10,000 and Laird covered the additional expense. The resolution by the Board of Directors accepting Laird's gift is also included, along with a transcribed version of the original proposition.

The book includes 49 pages of color maps of all 27 townships and 9 cities and towns, including Beaver Falls. Includes many geographic features, including: Round Lake, Rouges Island, Lake Chamberlain, Duck Creek, and Purgatory Creek. Includes a map of Renville County, a map of Minnesota, a map of the United States, a map of Principal and Meridian Base Lines, road laws of Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois, and a patron directory (3 pages). Includes four loose pages of Brookfield, Osceola, Boon Lake and Hector Township plat maps from 1913. These four pages are hand written as draft copy for the official 1913 plat book.

He married Margaret Taylor (1839-1927) of Rochester, New York in 1858. They arrived in Pope County in 1868 after several years in Wabasha County.
This map shows Hodapp's Addition to the community of North Mankato. Wendell Hodapp was the community's first president, who had purchased 160 acres of land in 1878 that included a significant portion of the future city.

Published on the front page of the March 2, 1904, edition of the Minneapolis Journal, this cartoon depicts a husband and wife having coffee at their dining room table. The husband is shaking salt onto the front page of the "Daily Newspaper," whose headlines include "Gigantic Victory for Russian Arms." In the published version, which includes caption and dialog, the wife asks, "Why, John, what in the world is the matter?" He replies, "I'm just taking this St. Petersburg story with a little salt." This is a reference to public response to unconfirmed reports coming from St. Petersburg, Russia, that Russian army forces had overwhelmingly defeated Japanese forces in a land battle in northern Korea, and that a sea battle near Port Arthur had resulted in the sinking of Japanese boats.

This is the first published history book of Kandiyohi County. This history describes the many aspects of the County's history including: early settlements, Native Americans, U.S. Dakota Conflict of 1862, politics, Monongalia County history, State Capital lands, geology. Each township also has its own history, which includes a plat map, history of school districts, churches and biographies.
A bill for grains and cow pasturage. It appears that a discount was given since Mr. Tews paid in cash. The payment for cash was signed by Wauzee Cussons, one of the owners of the mill.
A circulation study report prepared by Jeannette Clarke, Head Librarian of the Winona Free Public Library, to Burr D. Blair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the library. The report compares the total number of items in various subject areas to the circulation in order to determine the use per volume.
The cyclone policy was issued to M. J. Kennedy on May 12, 1905. The policy was in effect for five years and it covered farm implements, grain and hay. The policy was issued by the Saint Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company.
The Land Tax Road Receipt was for road taxes paid in the village of Stewartville. Mr. Tews was also charged a labor payment for Personal Property Road Tax.
