Blair Johnsen, resident manager at the Meridian Apartments, raises his arms as he rolls through a paper banner at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Meridian Apartments. The 39-unit Meridian Apartments, developed by United Cerebral Palsy, opened in Duluth in 1978 and offered barrier-free living for people with disabilities.

Newly constructed steel railroad bridge (Black Bridge), and old wooden trestle in background. The wooden bridge was built in about 1879 when the railroad came to Jackson and Lakefield, Minnesota.
Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railroad Bridge. The Black Bridge spans the Des Moines River and was located west of Jackson, Minnesota. The bridge was built in 1900 to replace the original wood bridge.
Bishop von Scheele and dignitaries gathered in Rock Island, Illinois, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Swedish-American Lutheran Augustana Synod, this group includes (no. 1, at center) the Bishop of Visby, Knut Henning Gezelius von Scheele, representing the King of Sweden, (no. 2) Governor Adolph Eberhart of Minnesota, and (no. 3) Dr. Eric Norelius, of Goodhue County, Minnesota, who had been present at the founding of the Synod in 1860. Norelius was President of the Synod at the time of its jubilee.

This postcard shows a view looking down on Camp Lakeview and the surrounding area at Lake City. The camp was the site of the encampments of the Minnesota National Guard.
