Aerial view of U. S. Steel's steel plant in the Duluth neighborhood called Morgan Park. Construction of the plant was announced in 1907. It opened in 1915, and closed in phases in the early 1970s.

Mihelich Monument Company granite shed was turned into an inferno when fire destroyed the building. St. Cloud residents flocked to see the blaze and cars caused a traffic jam.

Henrietta Howatt (1917-2003) discusses clamming on Lake Pepin, and the pearl button manufacturing business. At one time there were two factories in Lake City, Minnesota where buttons were cut from Lake Pepin shells.

The Bradley building was located at this Lake Avenue and Superior Street intersection of downtown Duluth. In 1924, upper floors were added making it four stories. It was razed in the summer of 1979.

View from Second Avenue West of the rubble that was the Glass Block store at 128 West Superior Street. The four floor retail giant in downtown Duluth had dozens of departments. It was located at this location from 1893. The store opened in 1887 at Panton and Watson.
