The Will S. Pitt Building was built on Main Street in Crosby, Minnesota, in 1914. Here it houses the Crosby Crucible newspaper, Will S. Pitt Real Estate, and the First State Bank.
Four of these buildings remain today, looking much as they did in this picture. The building at the south end is under construction. It was the creamery. Today it is being renovated to be used as a brewery.
Snow drifts block the entrance to the Spalding Hotel, Main Street, Crosby, Minnesota. A fire escape services the second and third floor. A horse approaches on the side street.
This two-story brick building was built in 1917. Then the street-level corner of the building was occupied by the Farmers State Bank. Later, the Pine River State Bank conducted business in the same space until 1974. Among original occupants was a pharmacy on Barclay Avenue, and a furniture store and funeral parlor on the First Street side. The second floor contained professional offices and apartments. The Gardiner family has operated businesses at this location since 1935. The original back addition to the building was destroyed by fire in 1973.
