W. W. Mayo with his sons, Charles and William. Mayo was a doctor and chemist who established the private medical practice that would become the Mayo Clinic. His sons were both doctors who founded and worked for the Mayo Clinic. This image is by Arthur Adams, Minneapolis high school teacher, local historian, and photographer. Adams traveled throughout Minnesota, taking photographs to augment his lectures. His studio was located at 3648 Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis.

International Stock Food Company was owned by Marion Savage, a Minnesota-based entrepreneur for whom the town of Savage, Minnesota, was named. Savage bought record-breaking harness race horse Dan Patch to help promote his business.

Summary of statistical and financial data for the Associated Charities of Minneapolis. In 1901, the number of organizations such as churches, societies and institutions that cooperated with Associated Charities increased to 119. Associated Charities continued to run an Employment Bureau and 7,833 odd jobs were found for men and women.

Report of the Minneapolis Humane Society whose work aims to prevent cruelty to both humans and animals. Includes statistical and financial data and important cases outlining issues and services provided. In 1907 the Society assumed responsibility of a home for babies, resulting in a significant loss of funds. Co-operation with various charitable organizations allowed the Society to continue work.

Associated Charities was designed to be a central bureau of all the charitable efforts in Minneapolis. It furnished temporary work through its employment bureau. An Emergency fund was set up to provide immediate relief to urgent cases. There was a system of tickets for lodging and restaurants that was always honored by the local establishments to aid applicants. Friendly visitors were lined up to check in on families and used clothing was distributed to the poor.
