Exterior view of the Fillmore County Poor Farm residence. This structure was built in 1896, following the destruction of the original home by fire. This home was erected to house the county poor, some of whom are seated on the lawn and steps.

Annual report containing reports by the director, superintendent, and treasurer accompanied by anecdotal accounts of the mission's accomplishments. Anecdotal reports section titled "Homes Transformed" provides three examples of the positive impact of the mission. Includes photos of the dormitories, religious services, restaurant, kitchen, household and goods moving wagon, The Mission Hotel, and The Gospel Wagon.

The Jones-Harrison Residenced is believed to be Minnesota's longest continuously operating home to seniors.

Marion Daniel Shutter came to Minneapolis in 1881 to serve as minister of Olivet Baptist, now University Baptist Church. He left the denomination after 5 years and became assistant to Dr. James H. Tuttle at the Universalist Church of the Redeemer. On Tuttle's retirement, Shutter became pastor there in 1891 and served until his death in 1939. Shutter was a founder of Unity House, the oldest settlement house in Minneapolis. He aided in the establishment of public playgrounds in Minneapolis and served as the Chairman of the Minneapolis Vice Commission in 1911. He was president of the Minneapolis Charter Commission and edited and contributed to histories of Minneapolis and Minnesota. Booker T. Washington was Principal of Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute. In the letter, sent from the Grand Union Hotel in New York City on October 17, 1901, Washington refers to a previous visit to Reverend Shutter's church. Whether Washington was able to arrange another visit is unknown.

First volume from the organization, describing the original formation and activities of the charity in the early 20th century. The handwritten record book predates the official incorporation of the three family charities into a single charity, The Amherst H. Wilder Charity, in 1910.

A narrative account of the daily management and functioning of the organization, a St. Paul orphanage established shortly after the end of the Civil War. The handwritten account records the monthly board meetings, notes the number of children resident each month, lists donations received, and documents the daily issues and concerns of running of the orphanage. Volume V covers 1905 to 1915. Two additional minutes books reside in the collection of the Minnesota Historical Society.
Biennial report containing a brief history of the Washburn Memorial Orphan Asylum and a financial report of the endowment fund and expenses for the 19th and 20th fiscal years. Includes photographs of the building.

The Vasa Orphans' Home was founded by Eric Norelius in 1865 and operated by the Minnesota Conference of the Augustana Lutheran Church from 1876 onward. The postcard picture was taken on Decoration Day, 1907, and shows the children playing on the grounds, enjoying their holiday.

Annual Report, Woman's Christian Association - Reports of 1906-1907, including details regarding Mr. & Mrs. Dunwoody's donation of their home to be used as the woman's Boarding Home.
Member are gathered in front of the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul. The Ninth Convention of the Minnesota Association of the Deaf was held in St. Paul during September 4-7, 1907. A label on the photo reads: "9th Convention Minnesota Association of the Deaf, St. Paul, Minn. Sept. 4th to 7th, 1907." The man with no ribbon badge and holding a white hat and sitting in the middle of the front row is Governor John A. Johnson. Sitting to the right of Governor Johnson are Jay Cooke Howard, Dr. James L. Smith, Henry Bruns, Thomas Sheridan, an unknown woman, and James S.S. Bowen. Sitting to the left of Governor Johnson are an unknown woman, L.W. Hodgman, four unknowns, and Anton Schroeder. To the right of Anton Schroeder are an unknown woman and an unknown man and then Louis Albert Roth (in a dark tie and suit) standing in the second row behind the unknown man. In the front row, third from the left end, is Anson Spear (with a thick dark mustache and beard).
