Report of the Minneapolis Humane Society whose work aims to prevent cruelty to both humans and animals. Includes statistical and financial data and important cases outlining issues and services provided. In 1907 the Society assumed responsibility of a home for babies, resulting in a significant loss of funds. Co-operation with various charitable organizations allowed the Society to continue work.

An Emergency fund was set up to provide immediate relief to urgent cases. There was a system of tickets for lodging and restaurants that was always honored by the local establishments to aid applicants. Friendly visitors were lined up to check in on families and used clothing was distributed to the poor.

A hospital insurance ticket from 1895 for St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. These tickets were sold to lumbermen in northern Minnesota by sisters such as Sister Amata Mackett, who travelled to their camps and performed other home-y duties for the lumberjacks as well as selling tickets.
St. Mary's Hospital early insurance ticket. From 1892 until 1913, the Duluth Benedictine sisters sold an early form of hospital insurance in the form of "lumberjack tickets" which for a fee of from $1 to $5 (and later more), entitled the holder to admission to any of the Benedictine hospitals in Minnesota. This side of the ticket describes conditions under which the ticket cannot be used.

Summary of statistical and financial data for the Associated Charities. In 1904 the Provident Savings Fund was created for children and adults to have a savings account and deposit small amounts of money. The Department of Tuberculosis was established, doctors and laymen met to develop plans and policies to try and prevent the spread of tuberculosis. Ten fraudulent charities were investigated and nine of them disbanded.

Volunteer Helpers increase. Over 900 families were tended to with sickness and poverty and in the majority of the cases it was found that the man was lacking in wage-earning capacity because of physical or mental defects.

A change in the by-laws made December 31 the end of the fiscal year instead of September 30. Statistics for the three months from October to December 1906 are included in this report. The thirty-fourth annual meeting of the National Conference of Charities and Correction was to be held in Minneapolis June 12-19, 1907.

A Social Service Club was organized in September to foster personal acquaintance and co-operation among those interested in social work. Discussion around the development of a physical examination system for school children. Report includes three photographs: One of the records on file for quick reference, one of a Visiting Nurse on her "Errands of Mercy" in a snow storm, and another of a group of children in need.

The Concordia Society was a benevolent women's society organized October 17, 1901, at the Swedish Hospital of Minneapolis. The Concordia Society was primarily dedicated to providing free beds and other services to persons in need of medical care. The Swedish Hospital was run by and for Swedish immigrants.
