This application was presented to the Minnesota State Board for Vocational Education to approve the creation of the Suburban Hennepin County Area Vocational-Technical School. The application consists of a copy of the Intent to Participate contract for each involved school district; a listing of schools participating in the planning; a Memorandum of Agreement to particpate in the school planning process; budget documents; meeting minutes; a list of school board members; biographical data sheets on each board member; bylaws of the school board; and recruitment brochure for a superintendent of the new school.
A blank form used by applicants for jobs at the summer youth camp - Co-op-a-gan on Perch Lake in northern Minnesota, managed by the Range Educational Society in Virginia, Minnesota.

This brief biography of an historic building in Northfield traces its many different uses - Formerly the Y.M.C.A. Building, the Community Building, the City Hall - culminating in the transformation into the home of the Arts Guild. Written by Kirk Jeffrey, a Carleton history professor, it is an authoritative and well-written account of a beloved building.

Members of Captain Eugene St. Julien Cox's Company E of the First Mounted Rangers signed this document stating that they had received blankets and that they were responsible for their care and safe keeping. The document is dated November 22nd, 1862.
The first vote recorded in Olmsted County was taken on October 13, 1857. The ballots were tallied and the totals were recorded by J. N. McLane, Clerk of the County Commissioners, on November 2, 1857. Voters cast ballots to determine if the proposed constitution would be accepted and for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Congressmen, Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court, State Auditor, State Treasurer, Attorney General, Clerk of the Supreme Court, Judge of the 3rd Judicial District, Attorney, Representatives, Senators, Clerk of District Court and Judge of Probate.
This illustration shows Granite Falls in the center of two concentric circles that mark the distance to communities with high schools within a 35 mile and within a 50 mile radius.

A list of resorts in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Canada who have noted "restricted" or "selected" clientele as well as "gentiles only" in their current resort brochures. The first page is dated 1946 and other pages are stamped July 19, 1947.

This is a handwritten table of how many Macalester students or former students served in World War I according to rank and military division (Army, Navy, etc.). Oct. 30, 1918 is stamped near the bottom of the document. The table appears to be written on the back of a piece of stationary from The Rogers (Hotel?) at Nicollet and 4th Street in Minneapolis, Minn.
Macalester Neutrality and Peace Association. This is a collection of seven copies of a petition to the United States government to remain neutral in World War I. The order and number of signatures varies from copy to copy.

Constitution for the Minneapolis Kindergarten Association Alumnae, whose "object shall be to study the needs, advance the interests and improve the standing of the Minneapolis Kindergarten Association Normal School."
The collection of one map and 25 forms is an inventory of 25 wayside parks and rest areas located in Hennepin, Anoka, Sherburne, Scott, Carver, and Wright Counties. One or two black and white photos (7 x 9.5 cm) are glued to each form / page.

This document is a proposal from the Superintendent of Schools urging congress for help in providing a vocational-technical institution. It includes a projected school census as well as a letter from Mr. Lorin Gasterland, Tri Associates, Inc., proposing a focus on establishing a vocational school.
The authors gave an early account in the beginning of arts group in Northfield community. Starting in 1959, many local residents contributed their effort to organize events, including art fair, membership drive, classes in art studio, dance, drama, pottery class, etc. People who have involved in early years were Stuart Hunter, Mary Lou Street, Erling Larson, Ted Scott, Betty Woodruff, Gene Fox, Ed. Basquin, and Marilyn Carver.
These are the handwritten first Rules of Court for the Minnesota Territory, as recorded by Harvey Wilson, District Court clerk in Stillwater, St. Croix County, Minnesota Territory on August 13, 1849.
Gustavus Adolphus College senior thesis, "Why Do Free Citizens Endorse Socialism?", handwritten by Adolph O. Eberhart in 1895 and submitted in fulfillment of a requirement for the Bachelor of Arts Degree. The content of the essay, written in English, reflects political questions of the time and is an articulately-written discussion. It was included in the commencement ceremony held on May 23, 1895 as the "Oration with Valedictory". Adolph O. Eberhart served in various public offices, then as elected representative in the Minnesota Legislature 1902 - 1905, Lieutenant Governor 1906 - 1909, and Governor 1909 -1914.
This chart of 1917 expenditures for maintenance is found in the Thirty-fifth Annual Report of the Board of Park Commissioners of the City of Minneapolis, after page 82.
The document is dated October 1, 1938 and contains 60 trivia questions and answers relating to Minnesota public and academic libraries, education, and the Minnesota Library Association.
