William Byrne Elementary School, 11608 River Hills Drive, Burnsville Minnesota opened in 1967. Burnsville, which was originally spelled Byrnesville, was named for the Byrne family.
Before Dakota County communities, including Eagan, Minnesota, had a library of its own, residents received library services from the bookmobile shown at the Cedarvale Shopping Center.
Portrait of the Reverend Jabez Brooks, Hamline University president, 1854-1857 and 1861-1869. Prior to coming to Hamline, he was principal of a seminary in Watertown, Wisconsin, and a professor of Greek and mathematics at Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin. After leaving Hamline, he became a member of the faculty at the newly opened University of Minnesota.
Kiehle was opened in 1952 as St. Cloud State's first building built as a library. It served as the campus library until 1971. Since 1974, Kiehle has served as home to the Department of Art.
