The 1974 date book featured scenes of the previous fifteen years of activity on the Duluth-Superior waterfront, after the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway. Images include port facilities, ships, ice-coated tankers, sailboat races and more.
The 1976 date book focused on the then newly-created Spirit Mountain Recreational Area, which overlooks Duluth, Minnesota. There are photographs of facilities like tennis courts, ski trails, villas and the Chalet, as well as of people skiing, dining, and camping.

West Hotel dinner menu featuring blue point oysters, mock turtle a la Francaise, filet of beef a la Chartreuse, and soft shell crabs a la Creole. The West Hotel, designed by prominent architect LeRoy Buffington, occupied the corner of Fifth Street and Nicollet Avenue from 1884-1940. The Queen Anne-style building sported a Moorish-inspired dining room and boated the nation's largest hotel lobby.

International Stock Food Company was owned by Marion Savage, a Minnesota-based entrepreneur for whom the town of Savage, Minnesota, was named. Savage bought record-breaking harness race horse Dan Patch to help promote his business.

It includes an article, with photographs, about the Superior Ship Building Co. in Superior, Wisconsin; a review of the Visible Sholes Typewriter; essays on Store and Advertising Aids, and Little Tales of the Hardware Trade and tips useful for hardware businesses.

Advertisement for International Stock Food with a testimonial by E.L. Rolph of Pender, Nebraska, about the effectiveness of the feed on horses. International Stock Food Company was owned by Marion Savage, who bought race horse Dan Patch to help promote his business. Consequently, Dan Patch is featured on many International Stock Food Products. The horse and his owner had a close connection: Dan Patch died July 11, 1916; Savage died of a heart attack a few days later. Dan Patch became less significant as America embraced the automobile. Ironically, Savage started manufacturing the Dan Patch automobile in 1911.

This 40-page book, published in 1897, describes the land and towns that lie on the route of the Saint Paul & Duluth Railroad. Chapters describe the route of the railroad; the counties the railroad passes through; various crops grown, including potatoes, grain, berries and small fruit, and dairying. The last chapter provides brief descriptions of some towns along the route, including Pine City, Hinckley, Finlayson, Rutledge, Willow River, Sturgeon Lake, Moose Lake, Barnum, Mahtowa, Carlton, Duluth, and West Superior.

"A Handbook of Information and Statistics Regarding The Metropolis of the Northwest, Illustrated with Original Engravings." The 1893 Year Book is a history of Duluth's progress for 1892. Topics covered include mines and mining, lumber, manufacturing, railroads, marine, education, and suburban Duluth. Photographs show Chester Terrace, the Burrows Block, Buffalo Flats, the Pavilion at the top of the Incline Railway, the Union Depot, the Masonic Temple, Sacred Heart Cathedral, and the coal docks. Also includes some interesting advertisements from local businesses.
This book provides a history of West Duluth before 1916 and a detailed look at business and industry active in West Duluth at that time.
