Program for the 55th annual conference of the Minnesota Library Association, which took place at Hotel Lowry, St. Paul, Minnesota on October 1st, 1949. There was an all day preconference for Trustees and Librarians which took place the day before the conference on September 30th at the Continuation Center, University of Minnesota. The preconference featured speaker Douglas Marshall (Department of Sociology, University of Minnesota) on the topic of recent rural trends and their implications. The October 1st conference featured general session speaker Martin Hall (World Traveler, Educator, Lecturer, and Author) on the topic of the Iron Curtain. Square dancing immediately followed the keynote address.
