Attendees included Bishop Patrick John Ryan and representatives from other religious denominations. Report of the first annual meeting of the Minnesota Library Association held on December 29, 1891 in the rooms of the State Historical Society in St. Paul with the purpose to organize State Library Association based on recommendations of the American Library Association and similar to associations in other states. Motion was made to create a constitution which was submitted and approved after the meeting [available separately]. Elected officers for the next year are William W. Folwell, President; Helen McCaine, Vice President; and J.F. Williams, Secretary & Treasurer. The Secretary was directed to prepare a circular announcing the organization and be sent to every librarian in the State.
Report of the second annual meeting of the Minnesota Library Association held December 26, 1892 in the rooms of the State Historical Society in St. Paul. Total association membership equals 15. Minutes were read, officers elected for the coming year, and a call for meetings to be held quarterly rather than annually to encourage interest in the organization. J.F. Williams read a paper on "The Librarian as a Public Servant" and Dr. Hosmer read a paper on "Browsing." The topic of freedom on access to library shelves discussed, with group agreeing that more freedom was better.
Ticket for the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota, starting June 7, 1892. This specific ticket is for entry on Day 5 of the convention, Session 2, and for Balcony Section A, Seat No. 93. It features images of an eagle and Minnehaha Falls, and includes the detached stub.
Report of the Spring Quarterly Meeting of the Minnesota Library Association held March 29, 1893 in the rooms of the State Historical Society with 19 members present. Welcome by Ex- Governor Ramsey. Minutes were read and approved. Topics discussed include library architecture (Dr. Folwell), open versus closed stacks and freedom of access for patrons, and a proposed system of travelling libraries to be sent around the state (Miss Countryman). Resolution made expressing sympathy for J. Fletcher Williams in his present illness.
The St. Paul Free Medical Dispensary was incorporated in 1897. Cornelia Day Wilder (1868-1903) was an early supporter, and James J. Hill was Board President. In 1923, Amherst H. Wilder Charities assumed complete financial and management responsibility for the organization. Physicians and residents at the dispensary worked free of charge to provide free medical and dental care to individuals in need.
The United Church built housing for its faculty on the St. Anthony Park campus. This panoramic views shows the United Church Seminary building (later named Bockman Hall) on the left and faculty housing on the right connected by dirt roads.
The Evangelical Headquarters Dining Hall was a fundraiser for the Evangelical Hospital and Deaconess Home in St. Paul. This Hospital became the West Side General Hospital.

A narrative account of the daily management and functioning of the organization, a St. Paul orphanage established shortly after the end of the Civil War. The handwritten account records the monthly board meetings, notes the number of children resident each month, lists donations received, and documents the daily issues and concerns of running of the orphanage. Volume V covers 1905 to 1915. Two additional minutes books reside in the collection of the Minnesota Historical Society.

An architectural rendering of the First Methodist Episcopal Church in St. Paul, located at Portland Ave. and Victoria St. The cornerstone was laid October 15, 1907. Built in the Classic Greek Style the dedication booklet says, "Facing Holly Avenue in a situation ideal to show its classic and simple architecture, the massive columns of the portico give character and attract attention." The booklet goes on to say, "The main auditorium has eight hundred and fifty sittings." It housed an organ built by the Austin Organ Company of Hartford, Connecticut costing $7600.

This hospital became the West Side General Hospital. A hearty dinner of Roast Beef, Potatoes, Pork and Beans, Spaghetti, Celery, Pie and Coffee could be had for 35 cents.
