Rushmore Cornet Band in uniform standing in the middle of 3rd Avenue, just west of 10th Street looking east. Taken the same day as photograph # 1983.008.0001.PC. Band members include: E. G. Edwards, Chris Fagerness, Steven Fagerness, Chas. Morton, Chris Hanson, Albene Dahlberg, Henry Thompson, Clayton Bedford, and George Thompson.
Members of the first orchestra organized at Roseau. Mike Holm was a violinist and the director. Also playing instruments were Mr. Larson, violin, Charles Clark, cornet, O. A. Holm, piccolo, and Gust Oveson, organ.
Shown in the photo are adults who participated in the Thomson Community Band in 1930. It was directed by Mrs. A.L. Winterquist, wife of Thomson Township School superintendent, A.L. Winterquist.

The Kongsvinger Symphonia Band, associated with Kongsvinger Free Lutheran Church of Rendsville Township, existed from ca. 1907 until 1924. The band produced a concert series and played for community events in the surrounding area. Originally directed by Rev. Abs from Hancock, it was later directed by Adolph Sherstad.
